This year has been flying by so fast! I've enjoyed my transition to Fairview this year. My students are so helpful in getting me acquainted to the Fairview ways. I even got to stripe the tiger because my class achieved their class goal. We set our goal high expecting at least 70% of the class reading at or above grade level. We exceeded the goal with 75% of the class reading at or above grade level! I am so proud of all of my students! They are such hard workers and know how to work as a team.
I would like for my students to answer questions using our vocabulary terms. Each vocabulary word is underlined in the question. If you have a moment, will you please click on the vocabulary link, Journeys 23 - Vocabulary, and add a response to the questions.
Thank you for your participation!
Columbian 3rd Grade Lunch with Loved One was on the news. I was very excited to get to eat with Lain. Do you think the 4th grade Lunch with a Loved One will also be on the news?
I am so thankful for the 3 day weekend. My daughter celebrated her birthday and now I am ready to relax and reflect on the first full week of school. (This of course is much preferred over cleaning up the house after the sleepover last night!) What a great group of 4th graders! I am so proud of my class and how easily they have adjusted to being back in school. I know they all have great potential and the ability to persevere to meet all of their goals.
Thank you Peter McGuire for initiating Labor Day! Clicking his picture will link you to Time for Kids to learn more about Labor Day.
Not quite through
We won't quit,
CLASS of 2026!
I am already so in love with my class! We had a great first week reviewing procedures and expectations. Next week we will begin to dive into an "Ocean of Opportunity" by cracking open the books. We will also start to work in groups and build our class relationships.
Welcome back Class of 2026! What are you most looking forward to learning this year?
Having a website for our class is important, if it is used in a way that increases our class communication. I really want our class to utilize the website more. So I'm starting to wonder, "What needs to change with the website so that it will be an effective mode of learning?"
As I think about this question and contemplate what makes a website truly beneficial, I will be changing the look of the site. The first change that I see necessary is to have a blog on the home page. I want this to increase communication within the class and with parents.
